MigraineBot and Shortcuts

MigraineBot offers a range of options to use in the Shortcuts app. These features are designed to allow you to build sequences for multiple app interactions. In addition to some information about how the shortcut intents (or blocks) work, there are also some sample shortcuts below. Download, answer the questions and off you go!

Guide to Shortcut Intents

New Migraine

Record a new migraine at the time the shortcut runs. Includes optional variables you can set each time or default to your preferred value.

Variable NameTypeDefault
PainNumber (1–10)1
AuraBoolean (Toggle)Off/False
NotesTextBlank

End Migraine

Ends the current Migraine, if one is running. If no attack is running nothing will happen. Sets the end time at the time the shortcut is run.

This shortcut doesn’t take any variables.

Check for Running Attack

This shortcut will, if run by itself or with ‘Show When Run’ is enabled, report what the current attack’s details are, including the duration.

This shortcut isn’t designed to be used to take action on the information about the attack, instead it will return a clean Boolean (True/False) that will let you take further action. For example, if there is a running attack, put the phone on silent.

ReturnsTypeExample
True / FalseBoolean in ShortcutsTrue
NotificationText notificationThe current attack has been running for 8h 40m.

Get Running Attack Details
